What is the difference between autoflower and photoperiod cannabis?

Photoperiod cannabis flowers when the light cycle changes to 12/12. Autoflowers flower automatically based on age. Photoperiod plants produce higher THC (30%+), bigger yields, and can be cloned. Autoflowers are smaller and can't be cloned.

Can you clone autoflower cannabis?

No. Autoflowers cannot be cloned because they flower based on age, not light cycle. A cutting from an autoflower would continue the mother's age clock and flower immediately at whatever size it is. Photoperiod plants can be cloned indefinitely.

Are autoflowers or photoperiods better for beginners?

Both work for beginners. Autoflowers are simpler (no light cycle management) but produce less potent, smaller harvests. Starting with photoperiod clones from a nursery gives beginners proven genetics with higher THC and yield potential.
