How much, how often, and when to water your plants
Watering is the most common area where new growers make mistakes. Both overwatering and underwatering can severely impact your cannabis clones and mature plants. Here's how to get it right.
The simplest and most reliable method: lift the pot. Water when the pot feels light. Don't water when it's still heavy. This works better than any schedule because it accounts for temperature, humidity, plant size, and pot size automatically.
| Stage | Frequency | Amount | Tips |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fresh clone | Every 1-2 days | Light misting | Keep humid, not soaked |
| Seedling/transplant | Every 2-3 days | Small circles around stem | Encourage root spread |
| Vegetative | Every 2-4 days | Water until 10-20% runoff | Let medium dry between waterings |
| Flowering | Every 2-3 days | Full saturation + runoff | Plants drink more in flower |
