What to do after you get your clones home
Congratulations on your new cannabis clones from Prime Cuts Nursery. This guide covers everything you need to do in the critical first days and weeks after receiving your clones to ensure they thrive.
If you received rooted clones, they can be transplanted to their first container within 1-2 days. If you received fresh cuts, they'll need 7-14 days to develop roots in a propagation environment.
Normal transplant shock. Keep humidity high, reduce light intensity, and avoid feeding for 48 hours. They should recover in 1-3 days.
Usually nitrogen deficiency. Start light feeding with a balanced N-P-K nutrient. Can also indicate overwatering — check that containers drain properly.
Increase bottom heat (heat mat at 78-80°F). Ensure humidity stays above 70%. Consider using a rooting hormone if not already applied.
Light is too far away or too weak. Lower your light source or increase intensity. This is especially common with clones transitioning from fluorescent to HID/LED.
| Format | First Steps | Time to Transplant |
|---|---|---|
| Fresh Clones | Humidity dome, mist 2x/day, 72-78°F | After roots appear (7-14 days) |
| Rooted Clones | Transplant to 1-gal, light feed at 1/4 strength | Immediate to 1-2 days |
| Teens | Transplant to 3-5 gal, train immediately | Immediate |
| Talls | Transplant to final container, support stems | Immediate |
