Optimal photoperiods for every growth stage
| Schedule | Stage | When to Use |
|---|---|---|
| 18/6 | Vegetative | Standard veg schedule — 18 hours light, 6 hours dark. Best balance of growth and energy savings |
| 24/0 | Clones / Early Veg | 24 hours light for rooting clones. Some growers use for aggressive veg growth |
| 12/12 | Flower | Triggers flowering in photoperiod strains. Maintain until harvest |
| Light Dep | Force Flower | Cover greenhouse to force 12/12 outdoors for multiple harvests |
Most plants double in height during the "stretch" period after flipping. Switch to 12/12 when plants are half the desired final height. Indoor: typically after 4-8 weeks of veg. Teens can be flipped sooner since they're already vegged.
Outdoor plants follow the natural sun cycle. In California, plants naturally start flowering in mid-August as days shorten below ~14 hours. Fast-flowering strains finish before October rains. See the growing calendar for regional timing.
