Humidity management is the #1 priority — the dense compact colas are highly susceptible to moisture retention and mold/bud rot if humidity rises above 45% in late flower. This is the single most important environmental control point. Training should be early and aggressive: topping is highly recommended as the plant responds well, creating multiple even colas. LST is essential for maximizing light penetration through the tight internodal structure. SCROG is an excellent candidate due to strong lateral branching and manageable height. Perform thorough defoliation around Day 21 of flower to improve airflow through tight inner nodes, with light defoliation again at weeks 5-6 if canopy is dense — growers report up to 20% yield increase when topping + LST + defoliation are properly applied. It gained rapid market traction through the Cookies dispensary network in California in 2019-2020 and became a foundational parent in modern breeding. The original Cookies/Seed Junky phenotype has never been publicly released in seed or clone form. Third-party seed banks began offering reproductions in 2022-2024.
