Banana Ice Pop
Also known as: BIP
Breeder: Lovin' in Her Eyes (hunted in-house by Prime Cuts)
Banana Ice Pop is an indica-leaning hybrid from Banana Punch x Indigo with a loud tropical nose and serious bag appeal. Originally sourced from Lovin' in Her Eyes and hunted in-house by Prime Cuts Nursery. Expect heavy notes of ripe banana, blueberry candy, and sweet tropical fruit with a little citrus and earth on the backend. This one really pops all around — flavor, nose, frost, and structure. Vivid purple coloring beneath extreme trichome coverage.
Lineage & Genetics
Cross: Banana Punch x Indigo
Banana Punch contributes the banana-forward terpene character with creamy frozen-treat sweetness. Indigo contributes deep purple/indigo coloration genetics, berry-driven terpene complexity, indica structure, and enhanced trichome coverage.
Terpene Profile
Myrcene — Ripe banana base and deep sedation; 0.8–1.4% — the 2:1 ratio with limonene creates banana cream perception
Limonene — Citrus brightness and tropical candy quality; 0.3–0.7%
Caryophyllene — Spice/pepper anchor providing structure to sweetness; 0.2–0.5%
Linalool — Floral sweetness synergizing with limonene for the dessert character; 0.05–0.15%
Aroma: Immediately recognizable creamy banana candy — ripe banana with sweet vanilla cream and tropical fruit. The candy/frozen-treat end of the banana spectrum. Subtle berry/grape undertones from Indigo parent.
Flavor: Sugar-glazed banana cream on inhale with tropical candy sweetness. Smooth banana custard exhale with subtle berry/grape note. Best expressed through slow cure where distinct banana-candy fully develops.
Effects & Experience
Onset: Moderate creeper — may take 10–20 minutes for full effects.
Deep physical relaxation dominates. Heavy body high with couch-lock at higher doses. Strong appetite stimulation. Powerful, long-lasting indica effects suited for experienced consumers.
Duration: 2–3 hours; sleepiness increases progressively
Commonly Reported Uses
Growing Characteristics
Grow Tips: Compact bushy structure with broad fan leaves requiring regular defoliation. Top once above node 5–6. SCROG and SOG both work excellently. Two strategic defoliations at day 21 and day 42. Moderate nutrient sensitivity — start at 75%. CalMag essential under LED. pH sensitivity means even small drifts cause calcium lockout — maintain 5.8–6.2 coco, 6.2–6.8 soil rigorously. Flush 7–14 days for clean banana-candy expression. Dense indica buds are mold magnets — inspect main colas daily weeks 7–9. The banana terpene profile is VOLATILE and degrades rapidly with heat: never exceed 70°F during drying. The banana-candy flavor develops dramatically during cure — fresh-dried flower smells generic but by week 2–3 the creamy banana emerges. Extended 4–6 week cure reveals subtle berry notes from Indigo.
History & Origin
Originally sourced from Lovin' in Her Eyes and hunted in-house by Prime Cuts Nursery. Selected for the candy-forward frozen-treat phenotype expression — the creamy sweet end of the banana spectrum. Differentiated by 31%+ THC, vivid purple-to-black coloring under extreme frost, and HLVD-tested quality assurance.
