Blue Dream (Haze x Blueberry) contributes the sweet berry undertones, balanced sativa cerebral lift, and vigorous growth structure. Space Queen (Romulan x Cinderella 99) brings the pungent tropical-citrus nose, euphoric headrush, and heavy trichome production. Together they produce a strain that leans sativa in effect profile while inheriting indica-side resin density from both parents.

Aroma: Complex and pungent — opens with ripe pineapple and bubblegum sweetness layered over a menthol-cool brightness. Deeper notes of earth, rubber, and skunk emerge as buds are broken up. Some phenotypes lean more citrus-forward (orange zest, grapefruit), others more floral and tropical. Nose intensity is above average; the jar smell is persistently inviting.

Monitor closely for pests; the strain is not notably pest-resistant in the Blue Dream x Space Queen phenotype. Precise nutrient management is important — prone to nutrient burn if overfed. Slow dry (60°F, 60% RH, 10–14 days) and extended cure preserve the volatile monoterpenes (especially ocimene) that define the strain's signature tropical-menthol nose. Dream Queen emerged from California's medical cannabis scene in the late 2000s as a clone-only cut crossing Blue Dream and Space Queen. It gained a loyal following in dispensaries throughout California and Oregon for its approachable potency, vibrant terpene profile, and reliable daytime effects. No single breeder has been credited with the original cross. Separately, Humboldt Seed Company later released a feminized seed strain they also named 'Dream Queen' with entirely different genetics (Green Crack x Mazar Star x Skunk #1), which has caused persistent confusion in strain databases. The HSC version is notable for its extremely fast 45-day flower time and commercial-scale yields, while the clone-only Blue Dream x Space Queen version is the one most consumers and dispensaries recognize by name.
