White Moonshine
Also known as: Whitemoonshine, WMS
Breeder: OG Raskal Genetics (Ogr); a male was later used by Sin City SeedsSin City Seeds →OG Raskal Genetics →
White Moonshine matters to cultivators almost entirely as an ancestor rather than as a plant anyone can grow today. OG Raskal made it during the same White-hybrid period as White Fire OG, White Strawberry and White Urkle, and it was offered only as hand-selected seedlings at a Santa Fe Springs, California release around 2009, never as a commercial seed pack and, per SeedFinder, never as feminized seed. Its lasting importance is a single male bought that day by Don of Sin City Seeds: crossed to the "Power" clone it became Blue Power, released as an F1 of 10 packs in 2012 with the F2 debuting at the 2013 Los Angeles High Times Cup, and the same male also sired White Chocolate, WhiteNightmare, Aliens On Moonshine and Shine N' Sour. Blue Power went on to be Sin City's flagship and a parent in widely grown modern lines including SinMint Cookies (a High Times Top 10 Strain of 2014), Over The Moon Kush, Apples N Bananas, Wedding Cake, Kush Mints and Ice Cream Cake. Most growers therefore meet White Moonshine only as a name several generations back in a pedigree, and databases often record its breeder as "Unknown or Legendary" or "Ogr."

Lineage & Genetics
Cross: The White x Blue Moonshine
The White (also called "Triangle") is a clone-only, mostly indica plant with a flowering time of about 60 days. Krome, the grower who spread the cut, says it has no relation to White Widow, that it was named only for the sugar-white look of the finished buds, and that its real name is "Triangle" because it was a three-way cross; its exact parents have never been confirmed. OG Raskal Genetics, which made a selfed seed version called White S1 by reversing the clone and pollinating it with itself, describes the plant as growing "stocky and fairly squat," warns that it needs good air flow "with the amount of trichomes she produces," and gives 55-65 days of flowering with a medium yield — which is also the documented link between OG Raskal and Krome's The White, making the identification of this exact cut as the White Moonshine parent highly probable though never spelled out by any source. Blue Moonshine is DJ Short's plant, described by him as "the 'Blue' version of the 'White' family" and "a super potent blueberry Indica, coated with a strong concentration of tall standing trichomes" with a "very narcotic" body effect; he calls them "short, stout kush plants that produce dense, tight, rock hard nuggets of trichome coated bud. A true 'hash plant'," flowering in 7-8 weeks with above-average yield. Its genealogy runs back through Blueberry (F2) to the Blueberry Line (F1), which is Temple Flo x HTAF, where HTAF is the Highland Thai Afghani male DJ Short used in that line. What each parent contributes to White Moonshine specifically is secondary interpretation rather than breeder data: the commonly repeated reading is that The White contributes extreme trichome production while Blue Moonshine brings berry and floral notes with a calming indica structure, and the parents' own breeder descriptions point in that direction, but what White Moonshine itself actually expresses from each side has never been documented by any grower or breeder.
Lineage Dispute
Three documented disputes surround this strain. First, breeder attribution: many secondary pages list White Moonshine as a Sin City Seeds strain, and SeedFinder formally files it under its placeholder "Unknown or Legendary" category (which JointCommerce then misread as an actual breeder name). The breeder's own first-person account contradicts the Sin City attribution — Don of Sin City Seeds writes that he bought a White Moonshine seedling at an exclusive OG Raskal release and used the resulting male as a pollen donor, so Sin City used the strain but did not breed it. AllBud credits "the infamous breeder Ogr" and SeedFinder's description reads "strain from Ogr," which agree with the breeder account. Second, the lineage of its most famous child: Blue Power is often written as "White Moonshine x Sour Dubble," but the breeder's official lineage is the "Power" clone (sold by Progressive Options in the San Fernando Valley as "Power" / "P.O #1," possibly "Riddler OG," with a claimed lineage of Sour Double x Master Kush) crossed to White Moonshine; SeedFinder's genealogy likewise gives Power as Sour Dubble x SoCal Master Kush. The later rumor that the Power cut was really the cup-winning Sour Dubb cut was, in Don's words, "never 100% confirmed," and a seed bank agrees that "nobody has settled that," so "Sour Dubble x White Moonshine" is the unconfirmed version. Third, the parent itself: The White's exact parents have never been confirmed, and Krome, the grower who spread the cut, says it has no relation to White Widow and that its real name is "Triangle" because it was a three-way cross — so the word "White" in White Moonshine should not be read as a White Widow reference. Which of the two parents was the mother and which the father is also unknown.
Terpene Profile
Myrcene — Modelled and unverified, not measured. No certificate of analysis or lab terpene test for White Moonshine flower was found, and Leafly, AllBud and SeedFinder publish no terpene data at all (SeedFinder's taste and aroma sections read "No data available for this strain"). Myrcene is listed first or co-first by the model-generated aggregators Cannapedia (myrcene and pinene dominant) and GrowDiaries (led by myrcene, pinene and caryophyllene). It is the name used for this page's dominant-terpene card field only because one had to be chosen, and it should not be presented as lab fact.
Pinene — Modelled and unverified. StrainWeaver puts pinene first, ahead of myrcene and caryophyllene, while Cannapedia and GrowDiaries list it alongside myrcene — so the aggregators disagree on which of the two leads. No percentages backed by a lab exist for either. The model consensus of a myrcene/pinene lead is at least consistent with the verified lemon, pine and hash character of the nose, which is the only reason it is reported here.
Caryophyllene — Modelled and unverified. Named by GrowDiaries and StrainWeaver as a supporting terpene; no lab figure exists.
Limonene — Modelled and unverified. Listed by StrainWeaver among the minor terpenes. Worth noting only because both Leafly and AllBud independently describe a lemon-led aroma, though that sensory agreement is not terpene testing.
Humulene — Modelled and unverified. Listed by StrainWeaver among the minor terpenes with no measured value.
Linalool — Modelled and unverified. Listed by StrainWeaver among the minor terpenes with no measured value.
Ocimene — Modelled and unverified. Listed by StrainWeaver among the minor terpenes with no measured value.
Aroma: Two independent consumer databases agree on a lemon-led nose. Leafly says it has "a lemony aroma," and AllBud describes "a memorable aroma of bold lemony hash." An AllBud reviewer in March 2016 wrote simply that it "smelled so good." Lemon plus hash is therefore the verified aroma, and AllBud's words "bold" and "memorable" are the only intensity data that exists, which is why the nose is rated loud at low confidence. Blueberry notes from the Blue Moonshine side are unverified: GrowDiaries mentions a "blueberry-hued mystique," but no first-hand grower or smoker report confirms berry in White Moonshine flower.
Flavor: AllBud describes "a taste of potent lemony hash that sweetens and intensifies upon exhale" and lists the flavors as "Hash, Sweet." The single Leafly user review calls the first taste "crisp and woodsy." Lemon, hash and some sweetness are the verified flavor notes; berry is not documented in the flower by any first-hand account.
Effects & Experience
Onset: Unknown. No source documents how quickly the effect arrives. Leafly and AllBud both describe euphoria arriving first, with AllBud saying the warm body high "slowly spreads from your head and neck throughout the rest of your body," but neither gives a time.
Verified across Leafly and AllBud as a euphoric onset that moves into full-body relaxation. Leafly writes: "Expect a euphoric high coupled with full-body relaxation, making White Moonshine a great strain to try before movie night," and its one user review describes first euphoria, then "a wonderful body high," advising novices against daytime use. AllBud calls it "calming and relaxing without leaving you overwhelmed or completely sedated," with introspective, spacey mental effects alongside the warm body high, and lists "Body High, Focus, Relaxing." The reported negatives — dry mouth and dry eyes from MarijuanaBreak — are generic and unverified.
Duration: Unverified. The only figure is a single AllBud user review saying it "Leaves u baked for hours!" No other source reports duration, so hours is one person's account rather than a documented range.
Commonly Reported Uses
Grower's Notes
White Moonshine is far better documented as a stud than as a crop: it was never sold as a commercial seed line, SeedFinder records no feminized version, GrowDiaries shows zero harvests, and the most detailed account of the plant describes a male. No grow sheet exists, so everything below is an aggregator claim or labeled parent or offspring data.
Growth Structure and Training
Vigor in vegetative growth is the only observed note. Don of Sin City Seeds vegged his seedling for several weeks expecting a big harvest, and it turned out to be "a massive full-blown male." No height, internode spacing, stretch ratio or training response was ever published. MarijuanaBreak calls it compact and dense and Cannapedia short and bushy, from one AllBud-derived group citing no grower. Parent-derived: The White grows "stocky and fairly squat" with limited stretch, and Blue Moonshine forms "short, stout kush plants."
Flowering Time and Harvest
The published figures conflict. MarijuanaBreak gives 60 to 70 days, GrowDiaries 60 to 69, StrainWeaver a flat 60, and Cannapedia about 10 weeks with outdoor harvest in late September to early October. Parent figures disagree too: Blue Moonshine is 7 to 8 weeks per DJ Short, while The White is given as both 55 to 65 days and 8 to 10 weeks. Offspring data: Sin City rates its F1s at 55 to 65 days (Blue Power, Shine N' Sour, WhiteNightmare), 56 to 63 (Aliens On Moonshine) and 60 to 70 (White Chocolate). Those similar windows suggest the male did not lengthen flowering, an inference rather than a measurement.
Nutrient Management
Unknown, as are media and lighting. Nothing documents feeding sensitivity, EC tolerance, soil or coco preference, container size, spectrum or photoperiod response. The only nutrient note in the family is offspring guidance: High Times relayed the breeders' advice to "go easy on the nutrients" for the grandchild SinMint Cookies.
Environment and Climate
SeedFinder confirms only that the strain can be run indoors or outdoors. Cannapedia says it thrives in dry climates with low flowering humidity, but that is one derivative source and the whole record.
Pest and Disease Resistance
No mold, mildew, pest or hermaphrodite reports exist for this strain. Parent-derived: OG Raskal warns that The White needs good air flow "with the amount of trichomes she produces," and one GrowDiaries grower saw no mold on Blue Moonshine through a humidity spike.
Yield
The secondary claims contradict each other. GrowDiaries reports under 150 g/m² indoors and about 400 g per plant outdoors, StrainWeaver says high yields, and MarijuanaBreak promises a bountiful harvest. No grower-reported figure exists. Offspring data: Blue Power is rated 300 to 500 g/m². Parent-derived: DJ Short calls Blue Moonshine's yield above average.
Bud Structure and Trichomes
Two independent databases agree on heavy frost. AllBud describes bright neon-green, spade-shaped nugs with translucent amber hairs, dark olive-green leaves and thick white crystal trichomes, and Leafly describes bright green buds with amber hairs. Density is unverified; dense appears only in MarijuanaBreak. Parent-derived: The White's buds look rolled in confectioner's sugar, and Blue Moonshine's are rock-hard and tall-trichomed.
Color Development
No source reports purple or blue coloring in White Moonshine, and the verified palette is bright to neon green with amber to orange pistils and dark olive-green leaves. One ICMag report notes purple stems on Blue Moonshine, a parent-derived possibility only, and the child Blue Power's hues prove nothing here.
Drying and Curing
Unknown. No hang times, target humidity or cure lengths appear in any source.
Wash and Extraction
No wash yields, rosin returns or trichome-head observations are documented. The reputation belongs to the relatives: The White is a noted hash plant, DJ Short calls Blue Moonshine "a true 'hash plant'," and the child Blue Power is described as exceptional for extraction.
History & Origin
White Moonshine was bred by OG Raskal, a Los Angeles breeder also written as "Ogr" or "OGR," as part of his "White" hybrid series built on Krome's The White clone. The exact year he made the cross is unknown. OG Raskal Genetics is a documented breeder of White crosses — SeedFinder lists its White S1, made by reversing The White and pollinating it with itself, and THCFarmer lists its White Fire, White Skywalker OG and White Super Skunk releases — which fits him creating a The White x Blue Moonshine hybrid. Notably, there is no OG Raskal catalog page for White Moonshine, and the THCFarmer OG Raskal listing does not include it, supporting the view that it was a seedling or limited release rather than a catalog seed line. The one documented distribution event is a single day: OG Raskal teamed up with Ivan, described by Don as the "future Jungle Boys owner," for an exclusive release of hand-selected seedlings in Santa Fe Springs, California, featuring OG Raskal's "long sold out White hybrids (White Fire OG, White Strawberry, White Urkle ect)." Don of Sin City Seeds waited "in the rain for hours" and secured "one of the only White Moonshine... plants being offered that day." Kind Green Buds separately confirms that Ivan knew OG Raskal through early grow forums and that Jungle Boys has worked with OG Raskal plants, so Jungle Boys was a distributor or host at that release, not the breeder. On dating: Don writes that "in 2010 we harvested the first Sin City Seeds" from the pollen of that White Moonshine male, and a seed-bank description calls Blue Power "the 2010 cross that everything else at Sin City was built on top of," which places the seedling release around 2009 to 2010; one secondary page puts it "around 2009," which fits but is not confirmed by the primary account. Sin City Seeds itself was founded in 2010 in Las Vegas. Its market footprint as a named strain is essentially nil — White Moonshine was never a commercial seed or flower brand, and consumer engagement is minimal, with Leafly showing a single 5.0 rating and AllBud showing two votes and one review at 4.7. Its fame comes almost entirely through its offspring, above all Blue Power, and through Blue Power into SinMint Cookies, which Danny Danko named in High Times' "Top 10 Strains of 2014" on November 12, 2014. The breeder account also credits Over The Moon Kush with a "HighTimes Top Ten Strain Of The Year 2017," but that was not independently verified and belongs to a Blue Power descendant, not to White Moonshine.
