Terpene Profile

Aroma: Flowery lavender overtones with sour citrusy lemon, fruity berries, and a peppery spice. Some phenos express OG-Sunset funk with ammonia/chemical gas notes. Tested above 3.5% total terpenes (Moca Humboldt cut via HENDRX) with over 1% caryophyllene and nearly 1% limonene as co-dominant terps.

Flavor: Bright grapefruit-citrus up front over a creamy floral lavender line, finishing with a subtle nutty echo from the Cookies side. Some users report sweet tropical citrus, chestnut, violet, and hints of pungent pineapple in concentrate form.

Growing Characteristics

Grow Tips: MAC heritage can be moderately demanding in early veg — requires consistent VPD and careful feeding as it is nutrient-sensitive and prone to burn. Rewards proper care with tight internodes and a glittering finish. Keep humidity below 50% during flower to prevent mold in dense colas. Responds well to training techniques (topping, SCROG). Cooler nighttime temperatures in late flower will bring out purple and gold hues. Plants display long branches with common side branching — yields large colas rather than many small buds.

Capulator released Sunset MAC as part of his MAC cross series around 2019–2020. In December 2019, Capulator held a now-legendary two-day seed sale where growers lined up from morning until after dark to purchase MAC crosses at up to $240 per pack. Leafly named MAC crosses among the best new strains to grow in 2020. Available only as regular (non-feminized) seeds, reflecting Capulator's commitment to full phenotypic expression and breeding potential.
